THE DIRTY CHIC
Concept
Island Muse was never meant to look polished. The vision was maximalist and impulsive: undone glam, accessories piled on, beauty that smudges but still stuns. I wanted the images to feel like a visual diary spilling into the streets: colorful, chaotic, alive.
-
I started with a moodboard that leaned into chaos; unplanned outfit changes, stacked accessories, and the tension of glamour in everyday spaces. A loose shot list gave direction, but left room for instinct to take over.
-
The city became our muse. We had no fixed locations; just the streets, the light, and the energy around us. I directed solo, chasing golden light and real movement, stopping only when a moment demanded it. Shooting something called Island Muse in the middle of NYC felt wrong, and that’s exactly why it worked.
-
The Island Muse campaign became the visual backbone of The Dirty Chic’s refresh. The imagery shaped not just a collection, but a lifestyle; chaotic, magnetic, and unapologetically feminine. Assets powered a full site update, social rollout, and brand tone reset. What started as a shoot evolved into a visual identity that lived across platforms, giving The Dirty Chic a look and feel that was instantly recognizable and impossible to ignore.
The Island Muse campaign video captures The Dirty Chic in its rawest form: chaotic glam, city heat, and unapologetic movement. Shot entirely on the go, it’s a love letter to maximalist girls who dress for the plot and run the streets like a runway.
